But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.” — Luke 15:20 (NKJV)

The father wasn’t waiting to condemn his son—he was watching for his return.

That’s the heart of our Heavenly Father.

No matter how far you’ve gone or what you’ve done, if you repent and turn back to God, He will receive you. The father didn’t make the son earn his place back. He clothed him with the best robe, put a ring on his hand, and sandals on his feet (Luke 15:22). He restored his position as a son.

God doesn’t need a long time to restore what repentance brings back to Him. He knows how to put you back in the place He called you to.

If you’re far from God today, come home. Your Father is looking for your return.
